A local tow truck, run out of Angle Park

SA Best Towing is an Adelaide towing business with its yard at 48 Blenheim St, Angle Park SA 5010. Ghulam owns it and answers the phone himself, day and night. The white Hino you see in our photos, with the red lettering and the chain on the door, is the truck that turns up.

What we do all day

We take everyday jobs: a car that won’t start in a driveway, a ute that died on the way to work, a crash-damaged car that needs to get from the holding yard to the repairer. Then there are the jobs people don’t expect a tow truck to do. The same tray has carried a New Holland tractor and a 1930s-style roadster on whitewalls.

The truck is a tilt tray with a rear lift, so it can carry one vehicle on the tray and tow a second behind. A lot of our job photos show exactly that.

Car removal is painted on the truck’s headboard too. If you have an old car you want gone, we collect it, and if it’s worth money, we buy it ourselves.

We take country jobs as well. For a car going interstate, we book the long-distance leg with a carrier we work with and handle the Adelaide end on our own tray.

How we work

The price comes first

You hear the figure on the phone before the job is booked. If something changes on the day, like a car that turns out to be in a basement, we talk about it before anything moves.

Wheels off the road

Your vehicle rides on the tilt tray, drawn up by the winch and strapped at each corner, so its drivetrain doesn’t turn on the way.

Straight answers

If a job needs a different kind of truck, like a crane for something that won’t fit on the tray, we say so on the call rather than turning up and finding out.

Your choice of drop-off

Home, your own mechanic, the smash repairer your insurer picked, a storage yard or the wreckers. You decide where it goes.

A seat in the cab

You can ride in the truck with your vehicle, so you aren’t left at the kerb waiting for a lift.

Papers in order

Ghulam holds a South Australian towtruck certificate and a forklift licence. The business carries public liability and goods-in-transit insurance.
